First Tool Casualty-- 1.5/38.5

Spent most of the day taking a break for some NASCAR Truck action, laundry, dishes, and other things a good "spousal-equivalent" should do-- (Ben's sister came up with that one, pretty good, huh?) Then went out to make some more hinge brackets. Finished one outboard bracket before jamming up the bandsaw and putting a kink in the blade. :-(

  1. Katie,
One word on the bandsaw jam: Boelube! It's a
dry lubricant and it really does help prevent
chips from sticking to the saw teeth. You
should also be using a good fine-tooth bi-metal
blade. There is a lot more fabrication yet to
come on the RV-3 so it is worth getting the
    appropriate supplies.

On the HS spar reinforcing bars, a carbide
router bit makes quick work of rounding over
the edges. But I guess you are past that
    point already...
    Cheers,
    - Dan
